My name is not Max Binski.
I'm a freelance designer based in Lisbon. I do graphics, geometry and maths. I like bright colors in fine paper, in audio or video. I paint when I'm bored or pissed, and I'm also the creative director of the Pluie/Noir Collective.

“Sonar Off-Week 2013: Cosmo Records Showcase with Pluie/Noir & Improvist”
Digital & print artwork for Barcelona’s Sonar: Off-Week 2013, to one of the side-events organized and promoted by Cosmo Records and Hour Glass Events: Cosmo Records Showcase with Pluie/Noir & Improvist.
The design was at first done by Basor in a yellow scheme, handed over to me in a “exquisite corpse” kind-of-way where the color scheme was changed and teaked, and the space was re-arranged to fit all the details needed. The background was exchanged for my “Networking I” illustration, keeping the biggest visual impact possible.

“Power of Persuasion I&II”
Personal abstract work with blue and yellow acrylic inks on a 30x30 cm natural unbleached medium-weight cotton stretched canvas, exploring mixed colors in rough hand-painting strokes, scanned and post-manipulated, altering their original color schemes to a more more dramatic and eye-popping effect in two opposing moods.The result of these explorations were then turned into a multitude of products available in my personal store.

Collaborative Design for Urban Furniture
“Mesh”
“Mesh” is a bench designed for urban landscapes, done in a “making-and-thinking” perspective and technological experimentation with steel materials provided by SLM - Schmidt Light Metal Group. The project was a collaboration with Ayane & De La Roche back in 2010, at our Technological Design class in College.
Exhuming versatile utility, “Mesh” is a modular bench designed for the outdoors of the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon’s Technical University. Meant to improve and increase the outdoors sociability of some of the Faculty’s most interesting-yet-empty spaces, this bench is the result of an elaborate cylinder-steel mesh with 7mm of diameter each, bent and welded by hand, it was created to fit harmoniously with the concrete and green background of the whole landscape.
The elevated part of the bench could be used to place bags, books or even laptops, and both the L-shapped pillow and the steel bars can be colored in a multitude of color schemes.The dimensions of the piece are 80x83x65 cm.
Our design was featured later in the portuguese design magazine MID.

This event takes place on the night of the “Harpsichord Revolution Day”, a national holiday celebrating the end of the Dictature and the start of the new Constitution back in 1974.

“Joana Arez’ Work.Ink”
Webdesign for the Joana Arez,
The website was based on a wordpress theme to enable a user-friendly back-office for easy update of new works and new info. The website features an horizontal scroll on a layer behind the menu bar.
The website is not responsive yet, but fits the screen down to 13” laptops. Will add a responsive feature with drop-down menus within time.

Branding & Event Promotion
“…Goes Sailing”
Branding package for “…Goes Sailing”, event promoter from Cairo, and a flyer for an event at Lady Diana Cruise Ship, in the Courniche Maady, Cairo.
The design is simple and minimalistic, meant for easy use and color lightness. The logo is a simple geometric representation of two boat sails.
Personal Series
“セックス”
セックス (japanese for “sex”) is a series of digitally manipulated, manually glitched HD pictures from random porn photos found on the web from a simple search by the word “sex” on google’s image search engine.
This series of “glitch porn” stand as a cultural statement on how the current digital world turned into a highway of uncensored information and endless resources, either to help or pleasure you. Both images are taken from HD porn films for different “audiences” (heterosexual/homosexual). The manipulation on the images gave them a sleazy geometric-yet-organic vibe, and a slight un-definition of gender.
